Kyle Peterson is an associate with a growing general corporate commercial practice with an interest and focus in private mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate governance, start-up companies and securities law.
Kyle completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Saskatchewan, where he attended the first wo years of law school before spending his final year of law school at the University of Calgary. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in General Social Science from the University of Lethbridge, where he majored in History, Political Science and Indigenous Studies, with a minor in music while playing on the men's basketball team.
Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Kyle summered at both the firm’s Calgary office and at a boutique business law firm in Edmonton, where he gained hands-on experience drafting a wide range of commercial documents, conducting legal research, and coordinating materials for corporate transactions and annual general meetings. He has also contributed to legal education initiatives through his work with the Legal Education Society of Alberta, developing resources and presentations on legal writing, contract drafting and arbitration clauses in commercial contracts.
Drawing from his background as a university athlete and team captain, Kyle values collaboration, shared goals and working with a transactional team. These principles guide his approach to working on transactions and supporting clients through practical, business-minded legal solutions.
