Bennett Jones congratulates Senior Advisor Christy Clark on being named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women in the Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) Top 100™ Awards for 2018. Christy has also been inducted into Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ Hall of Fame.
Top 100 Winners pay tribute to Canada’s highest achieving women in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors who serve as an inspiration for the next generation of leaders.
Christy led British Columbia for over six years and had the strongest performance of any Canadian Premier for economic growth, fiscal management and job creation. She earned a well-deserved reputation as a consensus builder and worked tirelessly to create a new industry in liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the province.
When she left office, British Columbia had been Canada’s economic leader for three years running and went from being ninth in provincial job creation to first. She retired from political life in 2017 as the longest serving female Premier in Canadian history and the only woman in Canada ever to be re-elected.
Today, Christy sits as a Board Director for Shaw Communications Inc. and for Recipe Unlimited Corporation. She serves as an Advisor for ThoughtWire Corp. and as an Associate Member for the InterAction Council. In her spare time she volunteers for Roots of Empathy, an organization that works internationally to teach children empathy and kindness.
Congratulations Christy!
