As the former CEO of Canada Line Rapid Transit Inc., Jane will discuss Canada Line, the 19km $2-billion rapid transit mega project connecting downtown Vancouver to the suburb of Richmond and Vancouver Airport. Jane was CEO from initial project development through construction to opening day—early and on budget—and will offer her thoughts on the characteristics of a successful project. As the first significant public/private transit partnership in North America, Canada Line is also a valuable case study of the participation of the private sector in transit projects.
In addition to her observations about Canada Line, Jane will draw on her experience from other infrastructure projects in energy, wastewater and buildings to offer insights on project execution within multiple jurisdictions, project governance, and risk management in large projects.
