On December 5, 2016, Bennett Jones LLP partner Vasilis Pappas presented "International Investment Law and its Impact on Environmental Regulation in Canada" to the Canadian Bar Association's Environmental Law Section in Calgary, Alberta. In his presentation, Vasilis provided an overview of international investment law, investor-state arbitration, and bilateral and multilateral investment treaties, as well as their potential impacts on the ability of governments to undertake environmental regulation and legislation in Canada.
