BMF has been investigating the money-laundering case linked to Taib Mahmud, the former Chief Minister and current Governor of Sarawak, a Malaysian state in Borneo. He is accused of having abused his power as a public official, during his tenure as Chief Minister from 1981 to 2014, over 90 percent of Sarawakâs primeval tropical rainforests have been logged.
