Recently the Law Society of Upper Canada was prompted to hold its Civility Forum in response to a growing number of civility complaints, both from members of the legal profession and the public. Following this, there has been an increased emphasis by the Law Society to encourage civil conduct and respond in an appropriate and effective manner when this ethical standard is breached.
