Recently the Law Society of Upper Canada was prompted to hold its Civility Forum in response to a growing number of civility complaints, both from members of the legal profession and the public. Following this, there has been an increased emphasis by the Law Society to encourage civil conduct and respond in an appropriate and effective manner when this ethical standard is breached.
Please join our experienced panel:
Jeff Leon, Partner and Co-Chair, Litigation Department
Mike Eizenga, Partner, Litigation Department
Ranjan Agarwal, Associate, Litigation Department
for a discussion which will focus on:
- The Rules of Professional Conduct and the Advocates' Society Principles of Professionalism and Civility for Advocates;
- A case study in civility; and
- Practical tips to ensure you conduct yourself with the highest standards of civility.
