Kelly has a general corporate and commercial law practice with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, commercial transactions, and assists with other corporate law matters across the department.
Acting for various clients in industries including oil and gas, energy services, franchise arrangements, technology, hospitality, and real estate, Kelly routinely assists clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, asset and share purchase transactions, and corporate structuring. Her work on these transactions ranges from strategic advice on key legal issues, due diligence, corporate governance, and drafting of definitive agreements and other transactional documents.
Kelly also advises high net-worth families and companies on matters related to succession planning and sophisticated corporate reorganizations. By gaining a deep understanding of her client’s businesses, their operational and strategic initiatives, and associated risks, Kelly provides legal services tailored specifically to their needs.
Beyond the firm, Kelly is an active member of the local business community, as a member of the Edmonton Chapter of Young ACG (Association for Corporate Growth) and the Canadian Bar Association Alberta Branch. She also frequently mentors University of Alberta law students, providing advice in the early stages of their careers.
Prior to becoming an associate at Bennett Jones, Kelly articled with the firm.
