Overview

Ron Ferguson is a partner and member of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity groups. He has a diversified corporate practice focused on cross-border public and private M&A, private equity and corporate finance transactions. He has over 25 years of experience as a dealmaker and has led some of the largest M&A transactions in Canada. 

Ron is consistently ranked in Chambers Canada and Chambers Global in Private Equity: Buyouts. He is recognized as a leading lawyer in M&A and private equity by multiple Canadian and international legal directories. 

Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Ron served on the Management Committee in the Toronto office at another Canadian national law firm. While there, Ron also spent six years in the New York office, developing its cross-border practice and relationships.

Highly active in the legal community, Ron is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Ontario. He previously taught advanced corporate law at Queen’s University. A dedicated volunteer leader, Ron is Chairman of the York Football Alumni Association and former chair of the Wellspring Charity Ride.
