Presented by Bennett Jones and the Association of Corporate Counsel, Alberta Chapter

ESG is increasingly being considered by stakeholders and communities when making decisions about investments in—or engagement with—organizations of all shapes and sizes. As this landscape continues to evolve, it is imperative that corporate counsel and executive teams prepare themselves appropriately.

On Tuesday, December 13, Bennett Jones and the Association for Corporate Counsel AB hosted a discussion with industry experts on the key role corporate counsel plays in integrating and embedding ESG within their organization—and how they can respond to a growing field of regulations enforcing ESG pillars. Our panelists explored:

  • the role of corporate counsel and executive teams regarding ESG strategy and reporting;
  • how corporate counsel can work effectively with executive teams and boards (and vice versa) on ESG implementation;
  • best practices for risk identification and management when communicating ESG data; and
  • governance considerations.
