Allegra Hessels has a broad corporate commercial practice, with an emphasis on public and private mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets transactions, corporate governance, and other general corporate/commercial matters.
Allegra's experience includes:
- acting for buyers and sellers in M&A transactions, including asset and share purchase transactions, amalgamations, corporate reorganizations and plan of arrangements;
- assisting founders and start-ups or early-stage companies with matters relating to formation and contract development, private equity and venture capital investments, and navigating other general commercial law issues;
- assisting clients in the energy sector on project development and joint venture and co-ownership structuring, including working on co-ownership arrangements between industry and Indigenous communities respecting equity ownership and investments in renewable energy projects, such as wind and solar projects in Canada; and
- advising clients on routine corporate and securities law matters, including those related to governance, compliance and disclosure obligations.
Prior to becoming an associate at Bennett Jones, Allegra both summered and articled with the firm.
Outside of work, Allegra is an active volunteer with the Calgary Stampede and a member of the 4-H Rodeo Committee.
