As Toronto Managing Partner and National Co-Head of the Research and Opinions group, Preet analyzes and finds solutions for intricate, novel and complex legal issues in transactional, litigation and insolvency and restructuring contexts, with a specific focus on CCAA and CBCA restructurings. She also prepares expert legal opinions and written advocacy, focusing on appellate-level facta, for lawyers and clients of the firm in numerous areas of practice.
Preet has been part of the Bennett Jones team representing various parties in a significant number of insolvency and restructuring proceedings, including: Calfrac Well Services, Stoneway Capital, Sears Canada, Payless Shoes, Concordia International, Danier Leather, Connacher Oil and Gas, Bumble Bee/Clover Leaf Seafoods, NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Corporation, Target Canada, Bonavista Energy Corporation, Bellatrix Exportation and Nortel Networks.
Preet also has extensive experience in significant commercial, civil fraud and auditor liability cases, including Sino-Forest Corporation (both the CCAA proceedings and subsequent fraud trial) and Lavender v Miller Bernstein (Ontario Court of Appeal). She has appeared before all levels of Court.
Preet serves on Bennett Jones' Conflicts Committee and prior to her appointment as Toronto Managing Partner in 2024, she was a member of a number of partnership committees at the firm, including serving as Chair of the Toronto Student Committee. Preet is an avid mentor at Bennett Jones and is part of the mentoring program for the South Asian Bar Association and South Asian Women in the Law.
In 2022, Preet was awarded the Lexpert Rising Star Award honouring leading lawyers under 40 in Canada, and has been frequently cited in Lexpert's Big Suits and Big Deals. She has also been named a Lexpert Leading Lawyer to Watch in Insolvency & Financial Restructuring.

She is widely published in a number of industry and legal publications on restructuring and insolvency, securities, tax, and litigation matters.
